Washington DC, Day 2

I didn't get shanked in my sleep, thank god. Usually that wouldn't be funny when you're staying in a hostel but it's funny now because this is the frilliest hostel I've ever been in. All of the comforters in here are pink and red and the curtains are these transparent pink wonders. There have been more Good Things and Not-So-Good things discovered.

Good Things:

1. There's a Safeway nearby, and I bought Frosted Mini-Wheats, a half gallon of skim milk, some sugar free lime jello, Prego extra-chunky mushroom tomato sauce, spaghetti, a large can of chicken soup, a six-pack of chicken-flavored ramen, and a box of instant rice. All for $10.68, awesome. I used a Safeway card.
2. The Safeway isn't all shady, despite (or maybe because of) the presence of a cop that lurks around the registers.
3. The people staying are planning on long-term staying so they're all really friendly.
4. They provide labels and Sharpies to mark our food so that no one else takes it. That is the best policy in the world. I will be so, so angry if someone takes my ramen.

Not-So-Good:

1. There's several Brazilian guys staying here and whoo baby, they like it hot. Soooo hot. Like, 78 degrees hot. I was not as comfortable as I could have been.
2. I got into the shower at 8:45 this morning and enjoyed a lovely, nice-pressured, warm shower for about half a minute - enough time for me to be all soapy. Then I felt the heat going. "No, no no!" I pleaded aloud, hoping against hope that it was some random fluctuation. Nay. It was ice cold in another fifteen seconds. Lame.
3. It's kind of far from things.

I have my Consumer Ed interview tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. I was debating wearing a skirt today but it's really gross and rainy out so I'll risk the black pants that I just got and fell in love with.
