Busy Busy

I've created a whirlwind of activity for myself since there's absolutely nothing going on around the campus area. I applied for a research position in a psych lab, got hired by Undergraduate Learning Services to tutor Spanish all summer (what? really?), and attended a lecture given by the Criminal Defense Resource Center and received a free luggage tag, sports drink bottle, and two pens with real ink. Sweet! I felt a little out of place there since it was me and seven old, old people. The library staff had clearly expected a larger turnout, since there were all these chairs set up and a huge buffet in the back which made me sad since I'd already eaten dinner so all I took was a bottle of water. Afterwards, I stopped by the Carmike, signed up for another two shifts, and on a whim saw Shrek the Third again. It was still pretty good.

I managed to catch the previews this time, and before I had thought that Ratatouille seemed really dumb but I found that Brad Bird is directing it so now I've got some conflict on the inside, since The Incredibles is one of my favorite movies. I also hadn't known that it was produced by Pixar, but I've got a little rancor going with them since Cars was so, so boring.

While hanging around the new, beautiful cash registers that were apparently installed the day after I left (goodbye, IQ Zero), Andrew brought out these lovely things that I thought were promotional mouse pads for a new movie. Uh, no. I'm just retarded. They're urinal mats. He slipped me a free one, and they seem to be quality since on the packaging they claim that the odor control lasts up to 1500 flushes, its standard size fits all urinals, and it helps to eliminate odors while preventing clogging. Gross. I don't know where I'm going to put it yet; I'll probably hang it on the bulletin board that's above my bed.

Tomorrow I have plans to go to the Women's Club or whatever it's called to buy cheap flatware and a mug since I now have a Hot Pot Express and nothing to eat with. Their prices are so ridiculously cheap I almost feel bad when I purchase anything. Their hours are abominable (9:00 - 2:00 Thursdays only) but that's probably because they can't afford to be open for any longer.

What's one advantage to being on the ground floor? The smokin' hot babes that suntan outside my window. She didn't move for a really long time. I was starting to get concerned.

So on Friday, I go from a math check-in at 8:00, to my appointment with this girl from ULS that wants to hire me, to the PEPP check-in at 12:00 (I am very concerned about that acronym; I'm thinking either cheerleading or leadership conference), then a film in the evening.

I just googled PEPP; it's a social enhancement program from Erie designed for at-risk teens to provide leadership training. Told you it was going to be leadership.

Addendum: I've been smelling this weird scent for awhile and I finally picked up the urinal mat and sniffed it, and it's definitely that. It's actually not repugnant; more of like a maraschino cherry. I just smelled it again. It's kind of pleasant once you get used to it. Mmm. Not bad at all.
