Camping
Thus far, my week has been pretty spectacular. I decided on a whim to catch a ride with Grace since she had to go to Pittsburgh for a concert. Being home reminded me of how nice it is to have an actual bed rather than sleeping on two mattresses on the floor. Before I left, Travis took me out to the Cozy Thai restaurant that is right across from my dorm and always looks really good but neither of us have been to before. For beverages, I ordered the standby soda but Travis went wild with a cold tea. It tasted as good as it looks. Nay - better.
As we checked out our menu options, I went with the soft "Pad Thai - most popular!" choice with chicken because I always follow the crowd when it comes to unfamiliar cuisine. It was delicious.
Mmm, a close-up of the greasy noodley goodness. It was very, very tasty. Travis got some garlic noodle chicken thing, which was equally awesome.
He also gave me a parting gift of like, a pound and a half of gummy candy because he's cool like that.
I went to McLanahan's to pick up snacks for the car ride (you can't just snag a free ride and not bring food) and this sign made me giggle. I don't know what's funnier - them messing up the sign so badly and not just making another, or that someone's name is actually Muurriuh.
I made it home in one disgustingly sweaty piece, and immediately rode back up to State College the next day. That trip was made a little better by the addition of air conditioning. Nothing much happened on the way up. I slept awhile.Sage advice, indeed. Thanks Sheetz!
Ohhh, my. For dinner on Tuesday we had crab legs, which are like my favorite things in the world. Yum.
Crab love. These things were so good. I think I ate like, three pounds of them. I don't regret it!
Yesterday when we went to the bathroom I saw this absolutely enormous spider hanging out in one of the corners. I took a bunch of pictures until Mom hit the web with the flashlight and it scuttled away.
While it downpoured this morning, a bee found its way into the car and was so confused as to why it couldn't fly through glass. It stayed like this for quite awhile and I thought it was dead but eventually it started freaking out again. It's probably dead by now.
UPDATE: a source confirmed that the bee remained in the car until Johnstown, where it was scooted off of the dashboard with a hat. Quoth one, "it looked like it was sleeping".
